Sliced Tech is proud to sponsor the recently launched OK RDY Cyber Edition Program designed for students and graduates to learn more about the industry from leading cyber professionals, SMEs, enterprises, associations and government leaders in Canberra.
Launched on 15 August 2019 at the Canberra Innovation Network, OK RDY Cyber Edition is a program of activities across, panels, mentorship matching, employer tours, social media and much more. The goal is to foster Canberra’s local cyber ecosystem, demystify cyber careers and help employers identify emerging cyber talent.
OK RDY is a mentorship matching platform that connects students with professionals and companies; to improve employability, diversity and cultural outcomes. Mentorships are recommended via artificial intelligence, based on personal interests, professional skills, geo-location; and a strong weighting on social values. Students can meet with industry professionals for ‘flash’ mentoring sessions and ask a few questions to gain insights into a career, organisation culture or industry.
OK RDY CO-Founder Tim McKay believes the Cyber Edition Program will connect cyber talent with industry and government, as well as showcase insights into the broader cyber security economic opportunity Australia can capture.
Mr McKay said, “We’ve designed a program in partnership with AustCyber’s Canberra Cyber Security Innovation Node that will help to demystify cyber careers, showcase industry role models and connect Australia’s emerging talent to professionals and organisations leading the way in the sector.
The OK RDY Cyber Edition Program is open to students currently studying cyber security or for people who have an interest in learning more about the industry. This is also an opportunity for employers and cyber professionals to engage with eager cyber talent.
